WHAT IS YOGA THERAPY?
Yoga Therapy is a Specialty
Yoga therapy empowers you to progress toward improved health through the practice of Yoga. Your yoga therapist considers all aspects of your well-being to design specific yoga practices that support your wellness objectives. Your yoga therapist utilizes a whole-body approach to assess the needs of your physical body as well as your breath, emotions, thought patterns and connection to spirit.
How is it different than a yoga class?
In yoga therapy, your individual needs are considered through an extensive intake process where your health history is reviewed and you receive a detailed postural assessment. The yoga therapist then works to develop a plan for you to work together to implement to help facilitate your individual goals. You will then meet with your yoga therapist consistently for at least 6 sessions to develop a customized yoga therapy practice to meet your needs. You will receive detailed notes and recorded meditations that you can use at home. Group yoga therapy classes may also be recommended as part of your plan and they provide an element of support through education, sharing, and connection.
Is a yoga therapist different than a yoga teacher?
While many yoga therapists are also yoga teachers, they have extensive additional training in how to customize yoga practices to meet individual needs. Certified yoga therapists (C-IAYT) have graduated from an accredited yoga therapy school designated by IAYT. (the International Association of Yoga Therapy). They have completed extensive clinical hours working with an experienced mentor to ensure their application of the teachings of yoga therapy.
Can yoga therapy help me?
You will get out of yoga therapy what you put into it. Individual sessions and group classes are designed to give you tools you can use at home, at work and in your home practice. You will get the most benefit from yoga therapy if you practice outside of session or class time.

PRIVATE YOGA THERAPY SESSIONS
90 minute intake & assessment – $120
You fill out initial intake form and we meet together to discuss health history and concerns, evaluate mobility, and discuss your intentions for our work together. Your yoga therapist will then prepare a proposed plan to include therapeutically oriented long term work together.
60 minute private yoga therapy session – $80
These follow up sessions will help you learn specific yoga therapy tools selected specifically for your conditions and concerns. Written notes and recorded meditations will be provided.

THAI YOGA TREATMENT
90 minute session – $120
60 minute session – $80
Thai yoga is a hands on modality. You dress in comfortable clothing and rest on a comfortable padded mat on the floor. I physically guide you gently through various yoga stretches and poses. You receive all the benefits of a yoga practice while focusing on relaxation and renewal. I am able to feel and release tension and trauma that is being held physically in your body to facilitate greater healing.
RETREATS
I have partnered with Angie Christensen from Simply Divine Eating to combine the teachings and experiences of yoga with principles of nutrition and healthy eating in a unique retreat experience. This is only offered twice a year at Bear Lake, Utah and gives you a unique opportunity to receive personal sessions in that area of the country. Click on the link for more details and to register.
